DeMarini's F3 fastpitch softball bat is designed for youth players playing at higher levels. It features a minus 10 length-to-weight ratio and DeMarini's "Pitch Black" composite technology which, according to DeMarini, uses 22 percent more carbon than its competitors.

Bat sizes range from 30 inches and 20 oz. to 34 inches and 24 oz. The barrel of the bat is 2 5/8 inches.

As described on the DeMarini website, the F3 features a "clutch end-cap" that effectively transfers impact energy to the barrel of the bat, and "pitch black" composite with "no fillers for the tightest weave tolerance." The bat also has thin, stacked walls, and double walls separated by DeMarini "Power Ply" for increased sweet spots and "maximum toughness."

The F3 fastpitch models available for view on the DeMarini website have white barrels and necks with either gold or red lettering and black leather handles. An all-black model with red lettering is available on the websites of wholesalers such as HQ for Sports.

The F3 has been approved by the USSA, the NSA and the ISA. Composite bats are generally durable, but be careful not to leave the bat exposed in cold temperatures or it may crack.

If you are looking at youth softball bat reviews, you are probably getting ready to do some shopping for your child, or another child that you know. One of the things that I always like to remind everyone is that bats do not make someone a good hitter, but rather sound fundamentals, and good swinging mechanics are the keys to success. A high quality bat however never hurts their chances.

Always make sure that you are aware of the rules of the league that the child will be playing in concerning bat length and weight.

Another item of consideration is the fact that some leagues allow composite bats, as well as non-composite bats. You will want to be aware of what the rules are of your local league, about which bats are and aren’t allowed. Make sure you’re aware of what everyone else will be using before you go shopping.
