Home batting cages are increasingly becoming more and more popular. If you have the room to put one up you will be surprised at how many kids come wanting to practice with your kids. This gives them the security of knowing that they won't cause any damage in the neighborhood caused by a flying ball.
Having your own home batting cage is essential to raising your batting to the next level, not to mention the convenience and fun you can have. A home cage will also encourage a better practice routine.
One reason to have a cage is that they are becoming less expensive. You can even make your own using PVC pipe and netting. They do not have to cost a fortune nor do they have to be huge in order for your kids to get the practice they need to become a good player.
Having a home batting cage will cut down on all those trips to the park. You will no longer have to use the cages there and wait for a time to get in. You can also practice however long you want to. This allows for players to practice trouble spots more frequently and for a longer period of time.
The third reason to get a cage is because you will no longer lose balls. Balls have a tendency to grow legs and crawl into and then places you can never find them. If you use a cage they will always stay in the cage. You won't have to shell out money in order to purchase new balls all the time.
The fourth reason to have a home batting cage is because they last forever with care. They need to be taken down during winter months but are easy to put up again in the spring. You can go many years with just one cage and only have to make minor repairs on netting. Most commercial cages come with a warranty as well. You can get many years of practice out of a bit of pipe and some durable netting.
Batting cages allow a novice player to develop those vital batting skills that are needed to beat the competition but for more advanced player having a home batting cage will take them to a whole new level of hitting skill. Batting cages also provide an ample safety factor for the onlooker as well as the participant.
Even if playing softball is just a hobby you’ll love the endless hours of fun exercise you can get out of having one. It seems to be increasingly hard these days to get the proper amount of exercise because of our busy schedules.
I have found that the best way to keep an exercise program for any length of time is to incorporate things, like sports I like to do in them to make it fun. That way I get the needed body workout and enjoy the time doing it. It seems to help keep the extra pounds off and my wife stays happy.

Batting cages are an essential ingredient in any training regimen baseball or softball. They are used by coaches and recreational athletes to help improve a batter's speed and accuracy in hitting a ball. Batting cages outdoors are a useful and necessary item for most teams.
Many communities have commercial outdoor batting cages at outdoor public parks and other areas specifically designated for baseball. These facilities are set on a rental basis. Can be used for both softball and baseball. Prices vary with the amount of time spent.

Baseball families with a limited budget or backyard space should strongly consider our a backyard batting cage. There has never been a more reasonably priced entry-level batting cage.
Every once in awhile, I find an inventor who understands every baseball family does not want to spend a million bucks just to have a batting cage or a pitching machine in the backyard.
I've often said that any player who is fortunate enough to have some sort of backyard cage and pitching machine and could hit every day simply by walking out the back door of his house could not help but become a better hitter!
And there is an old baseball saying that if a player can hit, the coach will find a place for him to play. It kind of tells you how hitters are built.

Think you can make a living with this?
I want to open an indoor baseball center. It would have batting cages, training, birthday parties, food drink / sale, bats, gloves, etc. I have no idea if these places make decent money. Anyone know really true for any number of income?
Well, you can not put the actual number of anything, because it really depends on how much business it receives. If you have a good business of your company might wish make a couple of hundreds of thousands, and you could run itself, I woudn't suggest throwing machines, which are expensive. Have a big bucket of baseballs in each cage. You will need to buy or rent a place big enough. As for the cage, get some compensation, and nail it on the floor, get some billboards pitching and put one in each cage, with a plate in each. Start with bats in rent, sell em not to know about making money, so do not waste your money on the sale of bats selling batting gloves, Gatorade, soft drinks, snacks, and see where it goes. As I said, it is difficult to put real money as a result of the different business flow companies can obtain. Run an ad in a newspaper, not behard, hiring an employee: the doorman. Pay him about 25,000 per year, if your business takes off, and keep the rest of the money. Catchy name something like "Kingdom of Batting" or something. You could make a good profit. Run an ad about your business on paper, or a local magazine. Grand Slam has already been used. You could make a good living doing this.

I absolutely believe that the #1 backyard training aid that any player could ever hope to have is a batting cage and a pitching machine ... even if the pitching machine needs to be budgeted at a later date.
The reason this is so important has to do with how ballplayers are built, how they improve fastest, and where their enjoyment of the game is derived.

As coaches, we know that hitting the ball hard and consistent are the best we can hope for from our players.
Hitting the Ball Well Happens When:

Since softball is largely a game about hitting it is no surprise that batting cages are very useful for practicing your swing. Building a batting cage, whether for fun or for a business, is fairly easy to do.
- Draw up some rough plans for the size and location of your batting cage. You also need to decide if you are going to be using a pitching machine or just a shield for the pitcher.
- Decide on the type of flooring you want to use. For an outdoor batting cage, hard packed dirt works, but for an indoor or sturdier outdoor cage anything from concrete to stretched polypropylene works. If you are using concrete, you need to let it settle before finishing the rest of the cage. If you use polypropylene, lay it on the ground and wait for the frame.
- Secure the aluminum poles that serve as the cage and insert them into or onto your flooring surface. Adjust them to your desired height and attach them to each other to form the frame.
- Attach the netting that serves as the ceiling and walls to the erected frame. If you wish to make the entrance to the cage very simple, overlap the netting where the door will be. If you want a more complex door use some extra aluminum poles to fashion one.
- Install either a pitching machine or pitcher's screen. Complete the finishing touches, such as attaching the floor if it is polypropylene. Double check the walls to ensure they are attached properly and then place a bat and helmet inside.

Batting cages play a central role in baseball and softball training. They are enclosures that help control the flight of baseballs and softballs during practice, and can be used to help improve a batter’s speed and accuracy.

Knowing how to choose the right batting cage netting for your situation could save you lots of money and save you from cheap imitations.
Batting cage netting comes in several types. Batting cages at the school or at home are becoming increasingly popular as the price gets to where an individual can afford one. It cuts down on trips to the park to practice and allows for practice any time you want it.
The netting is the most important thing when you talk about batting cages and there are several kinds. Which one is the best? Most netting is made in Nylon and comes in several different strengths. Of course, the less strength the less money you have to pay for the netting. This netting usually comes in clear or white and it is pretty strong. There is also the more expensive polyethylene netting. This netting is made from melting plastic and then making into strands that are braided or knotted. You can find this type of netting in all kinds of color from black to bright orange and this netting lasts forever. You may get a tear in it but it is easily fixed.
Polyethylene netting doesn't absorb water like nylon netting does so there is no chance it will deteriorate. Nylon netting is soft and pliable while the polyethylene is rather stiff. You can do repairs on both, but it is probably easier to repair nylon net because of its pliable nature. Naturally the nylon netting is made in less steps and the material is cheap so the netting will be cheaper.
Polyethylene netting is a bit expensive but worth it. If you have a small area to put up a cage use the polyethylene because it is stronger. You will not have to worry if the ball hit at a high speed will escape the netting. You won't have to pay for repairs to ball dents in your neighbor's brand new car.

Home batting cages are increasingly becoming more and more popular. If you have the room to put one up you will be surprised at how many kids come wanting to practice with your kids. This gives them the security of knowing that they won't cause any damage in the neighborhood caused by a flying ball.
Having your own home batting cage is essential to raising your batting to the next level, not to mention the convenience and fun you can have. A home cage will also encourage a better practice routine.
One reason to have a cage is that they are becoming less expensive. You can even make your own using PVC pipe and netting. They do not have to cost a fortune nor do they have to be huge in order for your kids to get the practice they need to become a good player.
Having a home batting cage will cut down on all those trips to the park. You will no longer have to use the cages there and wait for a time to get in. You can also practice however long you want to. This allows for players to practice trouble spots more frequently and for a longer period of time.
The third reason to get a cage is because you will no longer lose balls. Balls have a tendency to grow legs and crawl into and then places you can never find them. If you use a cage they will always stay in the cage. You won't have to shell out money in order to purchase new balls all the time.
The fourth reason to have a home batting cage is because they last forever with care. They need to be taken down during winter months but are easy to put up again in the spring. You can go many years with just one cage and only have to make minor repairs on netting. Most commercial cages come with a warranty as well. You can get many years of practice out of a bit of pipe and some durable netting.
Batting cages allow a novice player to develop those vital batting skills that are needed to beat the competition but for more advanced player having a home batting cage will take them to a whole new level of hitting skill. Batting cages also provide an ample safety factor for the onlooker as well as the participant.
Even if playing baseball or softball is just a hobby you’ll love the endless hours of fun exercise you can get out of having one. It seems to be increasingly hard these days to get the proper amount of exercise because of our busy schedules.
I have found that the best way to keep an exercise program for any length of time is to incorporate things, like sports I like to do in them to make it fun. That way I get the needed body workout and enjoy the time doing it. It seems to help keep the extra pounds off and my wife stays happy.
So every baseball and softball enthusiast should consider treating yourself, your family and your team to some healthy fun with a home batting cage.
