Well use a youth baseball bat in batting cage?
Plan to hit the batting cages. Will treat both average speed and fast speed pitches. I have a young bat 32/18.5. Is the bat will be good for that kind of speed? Or should I stick with a -3 bat for adults?
Use a stick is similar in length and weight as the bat you use in a game. A couple more oz is fine, but try not to use a lighter bat. I never use the bat of the game in a cage. I do not think anyone should use a bat of the game in a cage that does not throw leather balls.

What are some really good ways to get ready for softball season?
Last year I wasn't the best hitter and I really wan to be better this year. I have been going to the gym twice a week for a few months now and I went to the batting cage once but seriously how many times can you go. All it is, is hitting the same speed, same spot pitch over and over again.
What are some good drills I could do?
Continue going to the cages. It is all about contact and not location right now. Just hitting off a tee will improve your hand eye coordiantion. Don't give up keep hitting until you can't hit anymore.

Home batting cages are increasingly becoming more and more popular. If you have the room to put one up you will be surprised at how many kids come wanting to practice with your kids. This gives them the security of knowing that they won't cause any damage in the neighborhood caused by a flying ball.
Having your own home batting cage is essential to raising your batting to the next level, not to mention the convenience and fun you can have. A home cage will also encourage a better practice routine.
One reason to have a cage is that they are becoming less expensive. You can even make your own using PVC pipe and netting. They do not have to cost a fortune nor do they have to be huge in order for your kids to get the practice they need to become a good player.
Having a home batting cage will cut down on all those trips to the park. You will no longer have to use the cages there and wait for a time to get in. You can also practice however long you want to. This allows for players to practice trouble spots more frequently and for a longer period of time.
The third reason to get a cage is because you will no longer lose balls. Balls have a tendency to grow legs and crawl into and then places you can never find them. If you use a cage they will always stay in the cage. You won't have to shell out money in order to purchase new balls all the time.
The fourth reason to have a home batting cage is because they last forever with care. They need to be taken down during winter months but are easy to put up again in the spring. You can go many years with just one cage and only have to make minor repairs on netting. Most commercial cages come with a warranty as well. You can get many years of practice out of a bit of pipe and some durable netting.
Batting cages allow a novice player to develop those vital batting skills that are needed to beat the competition but for more advanced player having a home batting cage will take them to a whole new level of hitting skill. Batting cages also provide an ample safety factor for the onlooker as well as the participant.
Even if playing softball is just a hobby you’ll love the endless hours of fun exercise you can get out of having one. It seems to be increasingly hard these days to get the proper amount of exercise because of our busy schedules.
I have found that the best way to keep an exercise program for any length of time is to incorporate things, like sports I like to do in them to make it fun. That way I get the needed body workout and enjoy the time doing it. It seems to help keep the extra pounds off and my wife stays happy.
So every softball enthusiast should consider treating herself, your family and your team to some healthy fun with a home batting cage.

A batting cage net covers the entire area of a batting cage to contain the baseballs during batting practice. Cage nets cover the top and the four sidewalls of the cage, preventing the balls from flying out of the contained area.
A batting cage net can be made of wound nylon or polyurethane usually with a one and three-fourth-inch square mesh. Batting cages are an essential ingredient in any training regimen baseball or softball. They are used by coaches and recreational athletes to help improve a batter's speed and accuracy in hitting a ball. Batting cages outdoors are a useful and necessary item for most teams.
Many communities have commercial outdoor batting cages at outdoor public parks and other areas specifically designated for baseball. These facilities are set on a rental basis. Can be used for both softball and baseball. Prices vary with the amount of time spent.

Baseball families with a limited budget or backyard space should strongly consider our a backyard batting cage. There has never been a more reasonably priced entry-level batting cage.
Every once in awhile, I find an inventor who understands every baseball family does not want to spend a million bucks just to have a batting cage or a pitching machine in the backyard.
I've often said that any player who is fortunate enough to have some sort of backyard cage and pitching machine and could hit every day simply by walking out the back door of his house could not help but become a better hitter!
And there is an old baseball saying that if a player can hit, the coach will find a place for him to play. It kind of tells you how hitters are built.

Think you can make a living with this?
I want to open an indoor baseball center. It would have batting cages, training, birthday parties, food drink / sale, bats, gloves, etc. I have no idea if these places make decent money. Anyone know really true for any number of income?
Well, you can not put the actual number of anything, because it really depends on how much business it receives. If you have a good business of your company might wish make a couple of hundreds of thousands, and you could run itself, I woudn't suggest throwing machines, which are expensive. Have a big bucket of baseballs in each cage. You will need to buy or rent a place big enough. As for the cage, get some compensation, and nail it on the floor, get some billboards pitching and put one in each cage, with a plate in each. Start with bats in rent, sell em not to know about making money, so do not waste your money on the sale of bats selling batting gloves, Gatorade, soft drinks, snacks, and see where it goes. As I said, it is difficult to put real money as a result of the different business flow companies can obtain. Run an ad in a newspaper, not behard, hiring an employee: the doorman. Pay him about 25,000 per year, if your business takes off, and keep the rest of the money. Catchy name something like "Kingdom of Batting" or something. You could make a good profit. Run an ad about your business on paper, or a local magazine. Grand Slam has already been used. You could make a good living doing this.
