How to calculate the speed of a pitching machine?
A pitching machine (one that uses two wheels side by side spinning) fire balls baseball to the angular velocity of the wheels? Could you use v = omega * r for the speed of the ball when it leaves the machine?
Think on this, please. Speed is the same as the speed of time, R, the machine gets the ball. However, if the ball was a little thicker than is interested in the center of the ball, assuming that the two wheels move at the same speed. So from the hub of a wheel in the center of the ball is what you are looking for. Now, what is the tangential velocity of the outside of the wheel, how is it determined? The girth is what? So to a certain speed of rotation, what is the tangential velocity. Now imagine that the edge of the wheel is a little further, in the center of the ball. What is that speed. Everything is simple if you can imagine things, the speed of the ball is the same as the speed of the wheel if the wheel has a radius equal to the distance to the center of the ball. Simple if you understand the relationship between wheel rotation and speed with the outside of the wheel is in motion.

Well use a youth baseball bat in batting cage?
Plan to hit the batting cages. Will treat both average speed and fast speed pitches. I have a young bat 32/18.5. Is the bat will be good for that kind of speed? Or should I stick with a -3 bat for adults?
Use a stick is similar in length and weight as the bat you use in a game. A couple more oz is fine, but try not to use a lighter bat. I never use the bat of the game in a cage. I do not think anyone should use a bat of the game in a cage that does not throw leather balls.

What bat should I have chosen~!~!~!~?
I'm a 5'4" 8th grader and recently had a 2007 catalyst on which the end cap came off. When my dad called louisville slugger they said I could get either a -8 louisville slugger triton, a 2009 exogrid (-8.5), or a 2009 exogrid (-5). I choose the -5 exogrid because I wanted it to get used to the weight for high school. I'm planning on using in my next summer season. I just need your opinion on whether or not I made a smart decision or not.

What are some really good ways to get ready for softball season?
Last year I wasn't the best hitter and I really wan to be better this year. I have been going to the gym twice a week for a few months now and I went to the batting cage once but seriously how many times can you go. All it is, is hitting the same speed, same spot pitch over and over again.
What are some good drills I could do?
Continue going to the cages. It is all about contact and not location right now. Just hitting off a tee will improve your hand eye coordiantion. Don't give up keep hitting until you can't hit anymore.
